This mantra mandala is devoted to Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara), the Bodhisattva of Compassion, depicted at the centre of the artwork. Encircling the central figure, the mantra “Om Mani Padme Hum” is inscribed, representing the phrase “Jewel in the Lotus.” Consisting of six syllables, this mantra, invoking the power and blessings of Avalokiteshvara, can transform one’s impure body, speech, and mind into the pure, exalted body, speech, and mind of a Buddha.
