Guru Dragmar
Guru Dragmar – also spelled as Guru Drakmar – is a wrathful form of Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche), meaning “Red Fierce Guru.” He manifests in a red, fearsome appearance to subdue negative forces, clear obstacles, and safeguard the Dharma. His “wrathful duty” involves eliminating obstacles, defeating demons, and protecting practitioners. Despite his intimidating visage—characterized by a fierce expression, weapons, and a fiery backdrop—his actions stem from compassion. His wrath serves as a skillful means (Upaya) to guide beings toward enlightenment by dispelling ignorance and harmful influences.
