Shakyamuni Buddha (Shakya Thupa)

Buddha Shakyamuni is portrayed at the center with his two highly accomplished principal disciples. Shariputra, on the right, is celebrated for his wisdom, while Maudgalyayana, on the left, is renowned for his miraculous abilities. The Buddha’s right hand is shown in the earth-touching mudra, and his left rests on his lap, holding a begging bowl. Known as “The Enlightened One,” Shakyamuni established Buddhism approximately 2,500 years ago in India.
