The Thousand-Armed Avalokiteshvara
(Chagtong Chentong)

Avalokiteshvara, known as the Bodhisattva of Compassion, is depicted with a thousand arms to symbolize his ability to reach out and help all beings in need. At the top of Avalokiteshvara’s head is Amitabha Buddha, who is in a meditative posture, radiating light and blessing the Bodhisattva. This imagery signifies the connection between compassion (Avalokiteshvara) and wisdom (Amitabha), emphasizing the importance of both attributes in the path to enlightenment.
