The Thousand-armed Avalokiteshvara (Chagtong Chentong)

Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, is depicted with a thousand arms, symbolizing his limitless ability to aid all beings. In the foreground is Gelongma Palmo a princess from Kashmir who became a Buddhist nun and realized yogini. Despite suffering from leprosy and social exile, she cultivated bodhicitta through meditation and devotion to Avalokiteshvara, establishing purification practices that continue to inspire generations of practitioners.
