Vajrasattva (Dorje Sempa Yap Yum)

Vajrasattva embodies purification and inner purity in Vajrayana Buddhism. Seated in serene meditation, he is shown in union with his consort, symbolizing the inseparable union of wisdom and compassion. He holds a vajra at his heart and a bell on his lap, while his consort, Vajradhatu-ishvari (Dorje Ying Chugma), embraces him with a curved knife and skullcup. This thangka invites contemplation on the innate purity and luminous potential within all beings.
